Christian and Missionary Alliance

We were having issues with our internet system over the weekend so this email that was slated to go out Saturday/Sunday did not go.  The CLC team is slated to arrive back in Waveland tomorrow sometime and we hope to have a update to send out to everyone soon after.

Dear Friends,

As many of you know we are in the path of what could be a devastating hurricane to the coast. For those of you who have worked on the Coast and have a passion for this place, I implore you to pray! Pray that the storm dissipates and does not impact our coast. Pray for the safety of our staff and families. We are three years from the worst natural disaster in our country’s history and this community is very fragile.  While we think it unlikely, it is possible that we could have a repeat of Hurricane Katrina which is referred to as a 396 year storm.  It looks likely that this major hurricane with dangerous winds and a deluge of rain to hit the gulf coast with ferocity.  Early this morning (Sunday) all staff began evacuating north to First Alliance Church in Amory MS and we have moved the inventory from our thrift store and the vulnerable Quonset huts. If the storm finds land fall near Waveland we will need to be very proactive and do our part to support this community. At this point Waveland and Bay St. Louis have been required to evacuate with a mandatory evacutation. We will assess the next steps for relief after the storm has passed and we have been allowed back in Waveland. Expect more updates as this storm develops. Be ready and willing to help us support this community should we be called upon again. At this point what we need is your prayers.

Thank you all for your love, support and especially your prayers,
